Class Levels and Descriptions
Ongoing beginning yoga classes are basic and instructional. Little or no experience is necessary. Also appropriate for experienced or continuing students who wish to review basic posture and breath techniques.
Beginner series classes are offered periodically and especially designed for those with no prior experience. Basic postures and concepts are covered in a six-week sequential program. These blocks cannot be mixed with other classes. Check the web schedule or call for class times.
Gentle yoga classes focus on gentle stretching and alignment. Good for those who prefer to move at a slower pace, or for those with specific needs to address.
All levels classes are appropriate for beginners with some experience and for continuing level students. Students work at their own level of intensity.
Continuing classes are designed for those with previous experience in yoga and who understand basic alignment and principles.
In restorative yoga classes, props, along with conscious breathing techniques, are used to support the body in various postures -- creating a deep sense of relaxation and renewal. Gentle, yet profoundly effective in reducing the cumulative effects of stress and tension.
Feldenkrais classes offer a deeply relaxing way to re-educate the body through sensory-motor learning. Gentle movement led by guided instruction helps to break down unconscious postural and/or movement patterns and habits.
